Report We held a networking event as a return for our crowdfunding campaign, and we were pleased to have 59 participants join us (38 members from TUFS and 21 CrowdFunding supporters). Thank you to everyone who participated. Since we invited crowdfunding supporters to this event, it was a pleasant few hours with TUFS students, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere. We also had Ms.Linda and Mrs.Daniel, who are currently on exchange from Zambia University, introduce their country with interpretation provided by Japanese students. Afterward, everyone seemed to enjoy casual conversations. We would like to thank ZENSHO HOLDINGS, who were invited to this event through the "ASC Africa Education Research Support Fund" (Tokyo University of Foreign Studies Special Fund), for bringing in gyudon (beef bowl) as a treat, with the request that they let African students taste it and share their thoughts. Thank you very much. We also sincerely appreciate those who made direct donations at the reception on the day of the event. Together with the participation fees, these donations will be sent to the "ASC Africa Education Research Support Fund." We hope that the exchange between students from Africa and those within and outside the university will continue to deepen and expand, leading to ongoing individual and university-wide exchanges in the future. We also hope you will continue to support the activities of our center. Thank you once again for your participation.

Message for my supporters from Daniel

April 10,2025
【Message for my supporters from Daniel】 2025.3.31~2025.7.31University of Zambia[Zambia] Greetings everyone. My name is Chiteta Daniel Mukuma, and I am a third-year student from the University of Zambia. I am grateful to be here at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, and I am deeply thankful to everyone who has made this incredible opportunity possible. I am excited to immerse myself in the culture and learn about Japanese society. My primary goal during my exchange is to deepen my understanding of the Japanese language. I am eager to learn from Japanese people about the nuances of Japanesecustoms, traditions, and perspectives. Ultimately, I aspire to become a cultural ambassador of Japan in my home country, Zambia. I believe that fostering cross-cultural understanding is vital, and I am committed to sharing, and using my experiences and the knowledge I gain here towards research in my final year of university and beyond.I look forward to connecting with fellow students and faculty at TUFS and making the most of this invaluable experience.

Message for my supporters from Lindah

April 10,2025
【Message for my supporters from Lindah】 2025.3.31~2025.7.31University of Zambia[Zambia] Hello, my name is Lindah Lenah Phiri, and I am from Zambia. I am an undergraduate pursuing a degree in Psychology and Philosophy and Applied Ethics at the University of Zambia. I have always deeply valued and appreciated diversity, and I believe that with the humanities and social sciences, one cannot go far without acknowledging multiculturalism. TUFS is the perfect institution for me to learn from and interact with students from different backgrounds, and in a globalised society, this is very important. I am so grateful that this student exchange program has given me the opportunity to experience a place as culturally rich as Japan. I have always wanted to learn Japanese, and hopefully one day speak it confidently. I am excited to learn Japanese at TUFS, and speak with Japanese and international students alike! I am passionate about my studies, but I also love to read for fun, learn new languages, bake, travel, swim, try new foods, I enjoy beautiful architecture, and Tokyo has particularly beautiful sites! I am grateful to the University of Zambia, TUFS, The Inter-University Exchange Project Africa, The African Studies Centre at TUFS, and The Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO), for making this exchange possible.
